Was thinking about how many good tv series there were, that you simply don't see in reruns, as opposed to say, oh, 24 hour a day Scrubs marathons. Or Housewives of OC, etc.
I think top on my list, would have to be the great Carol Burnett Show, which had an 11 year run. And what great sketches they had, something to entertain the adults and thekids; it also was a variety show, with some of the top talent of the day.
I think one of the reasons it was so popular, was besides the great cast, and writing, was that almost everyone got the joke- there were far fewer entertainment options back then, you had 3 tv stations, and limited movies, so everyone got the pop culture references.
One of my favorite reoccuring characters of hers was Nora Desmond. To really appreciate it, you have to have seen the classic movie, Sunset Boulevard and it's Norma Desmond. But still funny even if you haven't. The show poked fun at other shows, and movies and topics of the day. As I said, that is one they should really bring back into full reruns. Seems perfect for that silly tvland station.
