The great pinup artist Gil Elvgren

I've always been fascinated by the classic pinup painting, and as a girl, I saw quite a few.

Oh, Daddy didn't have any around the farm, but I used to go with him all the time to the elevator, to the parts stores, the farm implement dealer, the lumbar yard, and the hardware store. And, a different time, those calendars were out in plain sight. I always thought those women were so beautiful, and I think in many ways they became my standard for feminine beauty.

It's amazing how many young women these days aren't really aware of the good pinup art like this; and they also don't realize just how Very nice much of that 'old fashioned' lingere was.
My Husband often likes me to dress in retro style outfits....

One of the more popular of those artists was Gil Elvgren, and my Husband and I love a lot of his work. His women were sexy,healthy, happy, with pretty smiles, or that adorable 'O' of surprise on their mouths, with lush hips, and soft thighs. Oh yes...
